According to a recent report, on 2 April, 2012, the Immigration Minister of New Zealand, Jonathan Coleman declared that there will certain amendments to the health screening process of New Zealand immigration in late July, this year.
The said report has also revealed that the amendment details are yet to be developed and further information regarding these changes are to be disclosed near to their implementation.
The changes to the health screening process to be made by the Immigration Department of New Zealand are mentioned below…
- All applicants for New Zealand visa are allowed to re-use their previous medical certificates. However, these certificates should not be more than 36 months old, where no risk regarding their health is identified.
- Students paying International fee will need to have a suitable insurance as part of their visa condition. The Immigration Department of the nation is presently consulting with their education sector regarding the ways for its best implementation.
- Immigration health checkups for students paying international fees will be decreased only for tuberculosis screening (TB), unless other risk factors regarding health are there.
- Visa candidates, already spent 6 continuous months at a higher risk of TB in the country from the time of their previous application for New Zealand visa, will be sent for TB re-screening.
- Health screening for immigration for the spouses and dependent children of the residents and citizens of New Zealand; along with successful refuge applicants will be restricted for only the conditions that make them ineligible for a health waiver.
- The requirements for medical tests will be updated for ensuring the most recent developments considering the high-priced health conditions.
