More Criteria to Qualify the Character Test for Potential Australian Immigrants!

The Department of Immigration and Citizenship Australia also known as DIAC has recently announced their latest Character Requirement version. This new version includes more criteria to qualify in the character test, for the people who want to live in Australia.

In this latest list of Character Requirement, the Australian Immigration Department has added more criteria to qualify the character test.

However, certain situations may lead to the failure of the character test for the applicants, such as:

1. If the applicant has  a criminal record
2. The applicant has been convicted of any offence during immigration custody period
3. In case the applicant has found having a connection with any person, group or association suspected of involving in any criminal action
4. If the applicant is found not to be of good character including his past and present general conducts etc.

Along with other important criteria for Australia immigration, passing the character assessment test is also made compulsory for the applicants, the non-citizen sponsors and non-migrating family members who want to migrate to this country. Fulfilling the character requirements, included in 501 Section of the Migration Act 1958, is necessary for those who wish to immigrate to Australia.

This character test is made compulsory to make sure that visa applicant, related non-citizen sponsors, and non-migrating family members are of good character. Moreover, the character test also provides discretionary powers of refusing or cancelling visas to the immigration authorities of Australia if potential immigrants fail in this test.
