Denmark Tripled Residence Visa Permits for Study and Work!

Government figure shows more and more people are migrating to Denmark for their prospective study or work as compared to past. According to Immigration Ministry, the Danish government has opened their borders for abroad skills or talents by offering increased types of work-related residence programs.

Immigration Minister replied on the high notes of restrictive immigration policy debate of opposition that the figure of residence programs for study and work has been tripled since 2001. He said that the government has offered fifty percent increased figure of visa programs compared to last year. More than 5,300 residence permits related to work has been offered to foreign talents by Immigration Department of Denmark past year alone.

But Danish Chamber of Commerce acknowledged that Danish government is finding it difficult in holding on the foreign talents that were immigrated to Denmark for study. The stringent immigration policies are making it more difficult for immigrated students to get a job in Denmark after completing their study. Foreign students are allowed to live in Denmark for six months after completion of study to find a job. Six month is a short period for the fresh graduates to find a job of their choice.

DCC accepts that we have more types of residence permits related to work presently which offers easier and diverse options for businesses to hire abroad skills, but these visa programs also covers several complex administrative hassles which are hard to comply with. Officials of DDC advocated the thinking of awarding green cards to these graduating students along with starting allowance automatically by the government to entice these foreign talents to work in Denmark benefiting the economy and society.
