DIAC takes initiatives against Forgery Visa Applications

The Department of Immigration and Citizenship Australia eventually spotted fraudulent matters in immigration and released a figure that unveiled many young travelers who visit the country to spend their holiday, use forgery method to stay in the country even after expiration of their visa with the support of Australian farmers who offer their immense support in doing this.

The Australian farmers help such people by selling them duplicate documents supporting their applications.

Australia, however, introduced the working holiday visas strictly for young people whose age must be between 18 to 30 years, for some specific countries like Belgium, Canada, Hong Kong, Germany, Norway, Japan, Sweden, Netherland and the list is too long.

Australia has mutual working visa programs with such countries where Australian youngsters also find a great space for them under the working holiday visa programs.

The visas issued for such program include total validity of twelve months – in case the visa holders spent three months in any specified occupation – they are certainly allowed to avail the benefits of a second working holiday visa.

The working holiday visa holders, who spent three months in occupation like farming in a regional location in Australia, entitled to avail the same benefits, as the Australian farming requires and relies for visitors for requirements of manpower.

The case of forgery in the immigration system came into notice when occupants began supplying the duplicate evidence in support of the second working holiday, which appeared online. As of Anecdotal evidence suggests, the travelers easily manage to purchase false evidence from local farmers by paying AUS$400-500.

Taking on the increasing forgery cases in the visa system, DIAC came with new initiatives and rejected over 1,059 working holiday visas. Australia immigration authorities eventually recognized six Australians and prosecuted, and five were convicted for providing wrong information.
