Australia is a land of opportunity and who doesn’t want to be the part of a rising economy. This is very much evident from the rising number of immigrants joining the Australian economy. The government of Australia makes is imperative for any immigrating individual to necessarily comply with the visa requirements under various categories.
In order to be able to live and work in Australia, every individual needs to pass through the point-based assessment system identified as SkillSelect. The assessment requires the applicant to at least score 60 points in order to become eligible for an invitation by SkillSelect. Does Indian need visa for Australia and a yes to it mean that any intending Indian immigrant needs to first place an Expression of Intent. The EOI shows intent on applicant’s part to live and work in Australia based on his academic and professional qualifications. The EOI must also be accompanied with a positive score on the Applicant’s English language comprehension. The applicant must also make a selection on his or her preferred occupation in Australia as mentioned on the SOL list ‘Skilled Occupation List’.
A positive score i.e. more than 60 points make the applicant eligible to receive an invitation from SkillSelect to come and discuss the job prospects in Australia. It must be noted that a score of 60 doesn’t necessarily mean that the student will receive the invitation, in fact this depends on the ranking and available opportunities.
