Before an application is considered under the Investor 2 Category, one of the categories of New Zealand’s Migrant Investment Categories, the principal applicant is required to submit Expression of Interest which goes into a pool. Based on a number of factors and points against the factors, EOIs are selected from the pool and then they are considered to apply for a New Zealand resident visa.

An Expression of Interest goes into the pool only if that is presented properly and it does meet certain requirements. The Expression of Interest must express the following:

• The Expression of Interest must confirm the person has met all the requirements regarding health and character; AND

• It must shows that the person has claimed points for at least overall band score of 3 in IELTS; AND

• It must confirm that the person is not over 65 years old; AND

• It must also confirm that the person has claimed points against business experience for 3 years, in least; AND

• It must show that the person has claimed points against 1.5 million NZ Dollars of investment funds, in least; AND

• Besides the aforementioned investment funds, the EOI must also confirm that the person lawfully owns 1 million NZ Dollars of settlement funds.
