Canadian government is all set to introduce new measures into the Canada Immigration framework, which are expected to bring a sea change in the working procedures of whole policy. As per Immigration minister Chris Alexander new measures will be introduced into Canadian Immigration system to facilitate new candidates placing their requests for settlement. It has been noticed over a considerable time frame that the migration system and process has been overloaded with requests from non serious applicants.

Presence of non serious requests chokes the programs and creates waiting lists and the authorities are committed to finding ways to reduce this backlog and actually clear the way for the people who are really interested in getting Immigration to Canada.

Continuous Efforts are on in various sections of visa and immigration authorities to find ways to reduce the backlog and also remove the deadwood from the long waiting lists. The long waiting lists have adversely affected the reputation of Canadian migration system as a reliable system and have also cast a shadow of uncertainty over the future of the people waiting in queues.

As per the new introductions the authorities of Maple country will only grant entry to those applicants who are able to substantiate that they will obey the rules and stipulations and also work honestly towards obtaining much prized Canadian nationality.

As a part of the new initiative the first step has already been taken by the government which is reflected in the introducing a cap system in the new skilled migration schemes i.e.

• FSTP – federal skilled trade scheme introduced in January 2013 with an annual cap of 3000 applications in 44 professions listed in NOC 2011
• FSWP – federal skills migrant scheme introduced in May 2013 with an annual cap of 5000 applications in 24 professions listed in NOC 2011. The program has been tagged with certain essential stipulations that need an applicant to substantiate
• Work exposure totaling upto a minimum of 1 year in the indicated profession
• Linguistic compatibility in one of the official languages of the country
• Possession of academic qualifications deemed to be at par with the Canadian educational standards
