Of late, the Canadian immigration department acquainted us with the number of applications they have received for open occupations the country for foreign nationals under its Federal Skilled Worker Program. And as per the figures released by the department, it is seen that the number of open occupations under the scheme has been going down.
As per the regulations, there are only twenty-nine occupations eligible for Canadian skilled immigration under the Federal Skilled Worker Program. As for the number of applications, the number for each open occupation is capped at 1,000 applications. Considering the limit so less, many of the occupations are nearing a point when the acceptance of applications from foreign skilled workers will be stopped.
For instance, the occupation of Professional Occupations from Business Services to Management has already stopped accepting petitions, as the cap of 1,000 is exhausted already. Many other occupations are also going to be closed, including the occupation of Registered Nurses in coming days.
For the uninitiated, the 1,000-application cap for each open occupation excludes sponsored work visa applicants who have a permanent and regular employment offer from an employer in Canada.
With the limited cap for in many open occupations under the Federal Skilled Worker Program is being exhausted, you have left with a few occupations only. If you are one of those wanting to immigrate to Canada as a skilled worker, this is high time you consult an Immigration and Visa Consultant right now. A professional would let know you other viable options even if you do not qualify for the Federal Skilled Worker Program.
