Free access to Cultural Institutions for New Canadians

Canada, a land of cultural diversity is one of the top most popular immigration destinations across the globe. Every year, this land welcomes a huge number of people from other overseas nations.

According to a Canadian program, the new citizens of Canada are provided with a free entrance pass for the period of 12 months. The main purpose of this program is to attract more immigrants to this nation. This program is known as the Cultural Access Pass (CAP) which is supervised by the Canadian Citizenship Institute.

This Canadian scheme has gained popularity within a very limited period of time. Before 3 years, there were only 6 participated facilities. But as of now, in a day, this scheme enrolls 80 citizens with more than 1,000 attractions around the nation.

The Cultural Access Pass provides new citizens of the country with free access to 1000 cultural treasures of Canada across the country. This particular program allows the citizens to find out the prosperous cultural history of Canada, world-famous historical figures, artworks and parks.

Over 600 discovery centers, parks and galleries in Alberta, B.C., Nova Scotia, Quebec, and the Territories of Northwest take part in this scheme. The information about this program is provided during the event of citizenship ceremony of Canada.

According to Gillian Hewitt Smith, the executive director of Canadian Citizenship Institute, they came to know that there are many people who may be legally Canadians on documents, but don’t feel like being part of the Canadian society. She also said that as more new citizens sign up to these institutions, they now won’t feel that they are not part of this society. These institutions are trying to bring more overseas immigrants to the cultural institutions of Canada.
