Here Comes the US DS-160 Visa Application Form!

DS-160 Visa Application Form would come into action from January 19, 2010. According to the reports, NIV will incorporate three existing NIV applications into one DS-160 form, which means that applicants applying for US Visa would be required to fill just one online form, confirmed Fredric W. Stern, NIV Chief.

It means that all for Non-Immigration Visa appointments commencing February 1, it would becomes essential for the applicants to fill DS-160 form, instead of the three forms.

This new online form would provide more convenience and save a lot of time that is often consumed in the tedious application procedure. Earlier it was mandatory for the applicant to print and carry all the forms along with the confirmation pages, as now the applicants just have to save and take a print out of a confirmation page after uploading their visa photograph and submitting the form online, stated Janice C. Anderson, Vice Consul.

Ms. Anderson further advised to save the “form” regularly as it automatically “times out” in every twenty minutes. The remaining procedure is the same.

The online procedure looks easier as compared to the earlier one but a new amendment is always attired with a degree of keenness and confusion in the beginning. It would be wise to take assistance from an Immigration and Visa consultant in order to fill the form properly.
