Holders of work visas issued under New Zealand’s long term skill shortage list work instructions can be granted a resident visa if they meet the following requirements:
- The applicants must have possessed a work visa issued under the long term skill shortage list work instructions for a period of at least 2 years; AND
- They must have employment with a minimum base salary of 45,000 NZ Dollars per year, which can either be in an occupation that was on New Zealand’s Long Term Skill Shortage List at the time when they were granted a work visa under the long term skill shortage list work instructions; OR in an occupation that is on the long term skill shortage list at the time their petition for a resident visa is filed; AND
- They must be aged 55-year-old or under; AND
- They must hold full/provisional registration, in case the occupation in which they are engaged requires registration to practice the same in the Kiwi country; AND
- They must meet health and character requirements.
