Hunger Strike at Campsfield by Detainees!

A hunger strike has been announced by more than hundred people in Oxfordshire at the Campsfield Immigration centre. This strike has been called to protest against the extended detention of these people at this facility. Many of these asylum seekers have developed psychological health problems because of this detention. And so, they are not ready to consume their meals till their complaints are heard.

While making a statement, they reported that about 147 of these refugees are on strike. There are some detainees who have been here for more three years. There seems to be no hope for these people to be removed from this place and have a better life.

They have also complained that some refugees have suffered from mishandled and are misbehaved with before they are sent back to their native country. They were beaten, strapped, restrained before being forced into the airplane. Most of them are even sent back without being given a permission to get themselves tried in the court.

As per the authorities at the United Kingdom Border Agency, there are a total of 108 detainees who were on this strike. Although, these asylum seekers still have the option of accessing food from vending machines and on-site shops. The staff is supposed to be monitoring the current situation accordingly with respect to the concerns of the detainees. With this, all those detained can also acquire medical attention round the clock as well as legal representation.

Above, illegal migration has been a major problem which has to be dealt very tactfully. This is because many a times these people do not even know that illegal migration is a crime and get on a to boat in search of hope and better life for their family.
