Immigration on Mind during UK’s Minister Visit!

The upcoming days will witness the arrival of William Hague (Foreign Secretary of UK) and Liam Fox (Defence Secretary) to meet their counterparts in Auckland. Sources close to the visit say that “immigration” would be one of the main agendas during the meeting likely to happen on Thursday. Other topics of discussion would be linked with Afghanistan and the affect which Britain’s controversial departure tax will have on its economy as well as international facets.

According to Prime Minister John Key, UK has always been one of the most prospective immigration destinations for Kiwis to reside and find good employment experience. Hence, immigration would be one of the most discussed topics.

Reports further say that the ministers from UK would be convoyed by the Chief of Defence, General Sir David Richards during their two day visit in New Zealand.

Wayne Mapp, Defence Minister of New Zealand said that both the nations have alike thoughts on the aspect of a majority of international challenges, in addition to having close security ties.

The ministers would mark their visit on 20th January and would be a part of a wreath-laying ceremony, which would happen at the Auckland war memorial. From there, the itinerary includes a formal reception hosted by Murray McCully, Foreign Affairs Minister.
