Prospective Sri Lankan immigrants intending to visit India and get their visas have good news in store for them now. They are not required to go all the way to Colombo as India has come up with a new visa centre in Jaffna, which is applauded as the cultural capital of Sri Lanka.
In additions, India is also intending to open a consulate that would take care of other aspects related to development tasks in the war-ransacked areas of the country. According to Ashok K Kantha, the Indian High Commissioner, the visa center would not only benefit the prospective Sri Lankan applicants but would also make the immigration procedure easier for them, in addition to facilitating the submission of visa applications. Increase in applications would directly mean a sheer enhancement in trade and business related activities, along with an advancement in tourism industry.
He said that that the inauguration of the visa center would enhance the number of visitors traveling to India on a regular basis. Moreover, India would be able to enhance the traditional collaboration between the nationals of both the countries. Here is the address of the new centre: No.89, Brown Road, Jaffna.
In another attempts, India has also shown its favoritism for an early reestablishment of the ferry services between certain shores of both nations.
Indian Visa Application Centre (IVAC) can be seen as an easy way out to commence the application procedures for Sri Lankan applicants, hence making it easier for both the countries!
