Everyone is concerned about what’s going on in Australia. Even if a person or some one from his family is not linked with a single atom in Australia, he would still want to know about each and every bit of news happening over these racial attacks!
A report from ‘The Age’ states that in response to the public outrage, the Indian government was quick enough to respond back and sent S. M. Krishna, the Indian Foreign Minister to Australia, on a mission to know the root cause behind the whole issue. He has acted strictly, especially in the past few months and has been holding a strong presence in the Australian media all this while.
The Age reports that courtesy these attacks, India has emerged as a self-confident nation, an identity that would never allow its citizens to be treated in an unfair manner. Also, the immediate actions from the political front show how much they care about its residents who have migrated to another place. This aspect has generated elements of nationality in the minds of Indians residing all over the world!
Most Indians have accepted that Australia is a safe place to live in and believe that some of the attacks had an element of crime (rather than racism) in it too! They also approve that Australia provides ample legal protection from the “racism” factor. On the other hand, prominent Australians are of the view that some attacks were draped with a hint of racism in them. All in all, an amalgamation of both racism and the crime factor revolved around the attacks on Indians in recent times.
The article has a very interesting thing to say. The honest appraisal of this whole issue on the racial attacks would play a huge role in ensuring that the bilateral relationship would mutually benefit both the countries!
