Likely Amendments in the UK shortage Occupation List under Tier 2

Further recommendations have been made by the Migration Advisory Committee (MAC) for further accession in the UK shortage Occupation List under Tier 2. The Committee thinks that certain occupations like Teachers working in special schools, including others should be added in the list.

Speculations are that these recommendations are likely to be implemented in the coming time, which will further allow the country to increase their intake of more immigrants and further make it convenient for Tier 2 Visa applicants. Some other recommendations made by the Committee are:

  • Make additions in the specialized jobs in the Distribution Industry.
  • Make additions in the specialized jobs in the electricity transmission.
  • Augmentation in medical specialisms, aircraft technicians and fitters.
  • Keep the occupation of skilled chefs on the skilled occupation list.
  • The Committee insisted on coming out with more efforts in order to implement the same in the training of the resident work force to fill chef jobs.

As far as the removal is concerned, the Committee has a view that following occupations should not be a part of the list:

  • Certain engineering and construction jobs
  • Jobs concerned with ship and hovercraft officers.

It is good that with these changes, the job opportunities in the UK are likely to increase in a major way. If you are interested in Immigrating to the UK, all you have to do is consult an Immigration expert and see the difference in your life!
