Malaysia has recently cancelled its “Visa on Arrival” facility for applicants from India after forty thousand visitors from the nation “abused” it. The same has been confirmed by Deputy Prime Minister Muhyideein Yassin. This instance has provoked the instance of misuse of fake applicants, which is not new.
The irony is that the case of Indians abusing this scheme of VOA tops the list of all those undocumented immigrants from nations from South Asia and China, to whom the card has been offered. If reports are to be believed, this facility has totally been barred now.
The need was felt by the Cabinet Committee on Foreign Workers and Illegal Immigrants that this facility should now be completely barred, in order to cater to certain problems raised due to this facility.
The deputy minister went on to say that they have given flexibilities to so many countries. And it has been noticed that this facility should be revoked in order to further prevent the misuse of this facility. Apart from making this facility available to Indians, other countries like China, , Myan-mar, Taiwan and Comoros, to name a few, were given the facility too.
Reports say that Malaysia is a nation which is home to millions of Indians. Some of them are still facing problems with their “right to vote.”
