Nationals from Canada held in West Africa released!

A cameraman from Montreal who faced detention in Mauritania (a place located in West Africa) has been released recently.

Stephane Lapierre has uttered his words to the CBX News that he along with his partner Urs Jakob (a citizen of America) are now back to their lodge. Reports say that the duo faced detention in the West African place almost a week back. Both were employed on a work of documentary film which was about undocumented immigration going on between people of Africa till nations of Europe.

Earlier, various reports pointed out in the direction that the arrest of both the filmmakers occurred in the capital of Nouakchott on 20th in the month of December. Speculations are going on the reasons which lead to their detention.

Other reports say that the detention happened as they were filing on an undocumented manner in the country and may face accusations of espionage.

According to narrator Barry Reid, who also shared the work with both the filmmakers, it is a difficult process to shoot a movie in this part of Africa as even if the applicant has the work permit or you are a journalist, it becomes difficult to commence the shooting.

It has been said that the Canadian is facing detention at present and the officials from the U.S. State Department are functioning on his case study.
