A foreign national who applies for New Zealand resident visa under the Skilled Migrant Category, must satisfy the following for the approval of his/her application:
- The principal applicant, along with the accompanying member(s) of his/her family included in the application must meet health, character and language requirements; AND
- The principal applicant must qualify for the points offered for factors like employability and capacity building; AND
- The principal applicant must be aged less than 56 years; AND
- The principal applicant must demonstrate the ability to settle and contribute to the NZ economy.
