News is that the Pakistani officials have barred their travels as confirmed by a circular which states that it is critical for the protection of Sikh pilgrims to bar those visitors who have not received any permission from the Pakistan High Commission in India to visit particular sites.

As close to 1400 pilgrims marked their journey to Pakistan on the occasion to celebrate this beautiful festival, but the fact that they didn’t had the visas to visit certain places, they had to suffer a ban from the Pakistani authorities to stay away from those places.

Also, these restrictions have played a spoilsport in their celebrations in a major way. The official document was dispatched to the Evacuee Trust Property Board (ETPB). Home Department has affirmed that the ban should be incurred at any cost.

The circular clearly stated that visitors won’t be given the permission to visit those places for which they have NOT been issued visas. The documents affirmed that it is authority’s responsibility to ensure the safety factor to travelers and provided the needed facilities to them.

Pakistanis have been warned of not allowing the Indians to visit those sites for which they hold no permission to visit. At one stage, the decision looks right as far as the protection is concerned, but it has surely played a grinch in the Baisakhi celebrations off late!
