Sayon Camara, 42, a native from Guinea, was ordered deportation after the Canadian officials found out that her marriage with her husband is a sham marriage. But now the 42 year woman is pregnant and is demanding an extended stay (till the baby is born) in Canada on the basis of humanitarian grounds. She is pleading to the immigration officials to allow her the extended stay as at this age, she fears for her life and also that she may lose her baby.
She said that she wants Jason Kenney, the Immigration minister to assist her out in her case and let her stay in the UK. Also, despite various attempts from her husband and other family members, her request was refused.
Sow is pregnant, but in addition, she is suffering from Type 2 diabetes, a facet which makes her case fall into a risky category. In such circumstances, it becomes mandatory for her to have the presence of her husband by her side.
According to her doctor, Sow won’t get the same high class medical facilities in Guinea, the same which she has been getting here in Canada. Also, these advanced facilities are mandatory in her case of a high risk pregnancy. Even her lawyer Stewart Istvanffy has confirmed that her life in Guinea would be at high risk. He said that this is not the way a pregnant woman should be treated.
The irony is that neither the woman nor does her husband has any relatives in Guinea. So it would become a difficult situation for the pregnant lady.
