Canada has always been the dream destination for many immigrants across the globe. The main reason for being the most preferred destination has been the flexible immigration rules along with being a developed nation offering state-of-the-art facilities.
The nation also caters to a list of occupations which it updates each year. These occupations are the most in demand but are short of skilled professionals in the local regions who could contribute to the industry and in turn to the economy. So, foreign trained professionals who seek better opportunities for life tend to apply for immigration under these occupations.
More so, the nation has many different categories or programs meant for immigration purposes. Based on these, an applicant can apply to program which serves his need and suits his profile the best. The categories tend to vary from temporary to permanent resident visas, business, entrepreneur and investor categories as well as skilled migration programs. There are both federal as well as provincial nominee programs.
Research Reveals – “Secrets to Success”
The University of British Columbia has come about with a new research which reveals that there have been two main aspects which have been responsible for the success of immigrants in Canada. These contributing factors are:
- Self-confidence of the immigrants to perform well.
- The dynamic attitude to achieve.
The above two have been the most important aspects which have led to all the immigrants achieve and settle down successfully in the nation.
The University of British Columbia has come about with a new research study which concluded that self-confidence along with the “can-do attitude” are main reasons for the success of immigrants in Canada.
The research report – “Secrets to Succrss” has been written by Norman Amundson, a Psychology Professor at the University of British Columbia. This report is a collaborative effort with “SUCCESS” which is a Canadian Immigration Support Group.
In order to conduct the study, about twenty immigrants from Asia were interviewed by the researchers in the last year. These participants considered themselves as being successful after they came about in the careers of their choice and were being paid well for working in the same in Canada.
As per Professor Amundson, the report is not meant to be statistical study. However, it does offer a picture regarding what is needed to be successful in a new nation.
