With rigid border security measures implementing from the side of Rudd’s government in Australia, things are going to become little tough for the asylum seekers who are intending to make their way in Down Under.
With the rigid amendments in the “border protection” measures, last twenty four months have seen plenty of refugees suffering from the after-effects of the same. Reports say that almost 170 people have died, trying to cross the borders since the Labor government has taken its oath. It was not long back when certain asylum seekers form Sri Lanka and Afghanistan lost their lives via come through boat way. It happened somewhere around the Indonesian island of Batam.
This is not a first incident which has happened. Since the over flocking of detention centre on Christmas Island, detainees and asylum seekers are facing some of the rough times ahead. On the verge of it, the Rudd’s government has inculcated some of the tough measures against the refugees, including saying NO to the asylum seekers from Afghanistan and Sri Lanka.
Reports also say that the death toll under the current government has increased at a fast pace. Blame it on the stricter measures by the government or the illegal status of the asylum seekers, but some thing needs to be done when it comes to taking care of this huge problem piling up every single second.
It has become a necessary step for the Australian immigration minister Chris Evans to come out with thorough measures as soon as possible, otherwise the detainees would continue bearing the wrath of tough “border protection” rules.
