In another “sentencing delay” in the US Immigration Raid, a sentencing has been deferred by a federal judge for the only executive who faced conviction in the country’s biggest workplace raid for finding out undocumented employees working in various firms.
According to a legal expert, the delays happening in this regard could signify that he is giving his cooperation in the current investigation which is going on to weed out the undocumented workers from the nation.
Reports say that Jose Humberto Gonzalez, the man in concern, appealed guilty in the year 2009 of the month of December to conspiracy. He also marked his admittance that he intentionally recruited undocumented applicants at a Howard Industries plant located in Laurel, a place where almost six hundred workers faced detention in a raid which happened earlier.
Gonzalez, is the only executive who has been charged in the aspect of illegal immigration till now. He was working as a personnel director at the workplace.
Sources say that his sentencing has been postponed for four times now without any public explanation. The most recent was programmed for next week, but the same was canceled by U.S. District Judge Keith Starrett in an order which was listed earlier last week.
It has been said that various immigration raids are going on all over the nation, hence weeding out undocumented workers from workplaces and scrutinizing employers who recruit illegal workers.
