Settlement Funds Requirements- Investor 2 Category!

A New Zealand resident visa applicant applying under the Investor 2 Category of the Migrant Investment must also fulfill the settlement funds requirements besides nominating an amount of 1.5 million NZ Dollars to invest in the Kiwi country. The ownership of settlement funds spells that the applicant has the ability to support himself/herself along with partner and dependent children included in the application for the NZ resident visa.

The principal applicant is liable for the financial support of himself/herself and all the family members included in the application for 4-year along investment period in the kiwi country. Let us have a look at the requirements concerning the settlement funds:

  • A principal applicant must be in a state to exhibit that he/she has minimum of 1 million NZ Dollars. This is solely for the purpose of settlement, which does not have any relation to the nominated investment funds of 1.5 million NZ Dollars.
  • The settlement funds must be owned either entirely by the principal applicant; or concurrently by the principal applicant and his/her partner or by the principal applicant and dependent children, included in the resident visa application.
  • In the case of concurrently owning the funds with partner, the principal applicant can claim full value of the owned funds given both the partners have been in a steady union for at least 1 year.
  • In the case of owning the funds concurrently with a person besides partner or dependent children, the principal applicant can only claim the value of the portion of the owned funds for which the applicant provides ownership evidence.
