British PM Gordon Brown recently affirmed that his return to the office would ensure that UK’s immigration law would see a rigid phase ahead as far as regulations are concerned.

The occasion was the launching of election manifesto, where the PM indicated the tightening of rules and regulations. He went on to say that the country won’t allow the entry of unskilled workers from outside the EU in future. In addition to that, student visas would also go through scrutiny, as confirmed by the Minister himself. He indicated tougher regulations for overseas students, expecting the quantity would fall by 40,000.

Also, the manifesto indicated that staying in UK for a set period won’t provide the applicants with the right to gain citizenship or settle down permanently. Also, the future will see the introduction of American-style ceremonies as a promotional tool for citizenship pledges and further help in enhancing the traditions of the country as a whole.

The Minister said that the net inward immigration is lowering down by a huge margin and there are chances that it will continue at its pace of falling in the upcoming times as well.

Also, few skilled and semi-skilled people would enter the premises in the times to come. He said that it is vital to advertise the job vacancies for such posts in local media first before providing the same to foreign immigrants.
