Lots of things are happening on Denmark’s immigration front. First the country had come up new immigration test towards the end of last year that is in November, and now the European nation is all set to introduce tighter language test for family reunification. The language requirements are a part of a new proposal from the government on immigration front.
The new language requirements would require immigrants to be familiar with the Danish language before they could obtain a Danish residence permit under the nation’s family reunification instructions. This will allow foreign nationals to enter Denmark on procedural stay, where they will be required to pass the language test within 3 months.
According to the Danish Refugee Council, in order to meet the language requirements, most foreign nationals with barely any knowledge of the Danish language will need around 600 hours of Danish language tuition. Apparently, foreigners will need to learn Danish much before they enter the country. However, this will have an adverse effect on the number of people entering Denmark under family reunification arrangements.
Today Denmark is one of the most popular immigration destinations in the world. Denmark boasts world’s one of the most affluent economies, that generates more opportunities form locals as well as foreign skilled workers. This is the reason as to why people from across the world flock to this economically enriched country in a bid to lead a brighter and better life.
