In a significant development, it has been learnt that many pro-immigrant bodies in the US are pressing the incumbent government of the country to put into operation a fresh procedure. The said process would enable the unregistered migrant partners and kids of the citizens of the nation to continue to be in the US even while their immigration applications are being duly processed.
Under the existing rules–in a system that may eat-up many years–all unlawful overseas people have to leave the shores of the country, to fine-tune their status. Earlier, the US President and the US Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) had made public a proposal to change this policy with a view to enabling the mates and kids of the unlawful immigrant to remain in the country even as their visa applications are being processed.
According to the USCIS head, the fresh procedure–that ends the unlawful presence restriction–targets to end the tremendous difficulties which the citizens of the country have to usually undergo, thanks to the agonizingly long period of separation from their family members.
Meanwhile, the USCIS has reportedly said that the proposed process change cut down on the total time period of the separation by significantly cutting down on the ‘drags’ in the existing migrant visa procedure. It added that the proposed change will improve the immigrant visa system for close relatives whose only ground for non-admission could be their illegal presence in the country.
It added that it intends to sit in judgment on the provisional relief application in the country prior to the close family member leaves for his migrant permit interview, even as this will reduce the required time period such family members must spend abroad, for the purpose of consular processing.
The temporary waiver of the unlawful presence restriction process would enable the unlawful migrants to continue to stay in the US along with their citizen mate, kids or parent even while the involved organization processes their requests for a relief. It also would reduce the total period the citizens of the country remain away from their close family members who must get a migrant permit abroad to become 100% lawful migrants of the country.
The USCIS intends to make public their final opinion and inform people if they would accept the proposed suggestion in the near future.
