Vancouver has Become a Popular Residence Option for Asian Immigrants!

Vancouver is a very popular coastal harbour city situated in the Lower Mainland of British Columbia in Canada. This beautiful city has become very popular among the immigrants from Asia and thus its population can be considered as Eurasian. However, in earlier period of time, Vancouver was mostly dominated by immigrants from Britain, Germany, and Italy.

Before 40 years, 75% of the total population of Vancouver had declared English language as their mother tongue. However, 6% of the total residents of Vancouver had mentioned their mother tongue as Chinese, followed by French, Italian, and German.

In the year of 2006, the figures got changed and according to the changed figure, 49% residents of Vancouver had listed English as mother tongue and 21% as Chinese followed by   Vietnamese, Punjabi, Korean and Tagalog.

Nowadays, one among every two inhabitants of Vancouver is a foreign-born and more than 50% students from kindergarten level to 12-grade are from China. Due to the huge number of immigrants to this particular city of Canada, a lot of new different immigrant services are launched, like the Mentorship Pilot Project. This particular project is designed to help the newcomers with employment facilities. The fresh immigrants are introduced with a mentor, who helps him in understanding the work culture of Canada by spreading their professional set-up and providing necessary information about official documentation and so on.

Besides this, Vancouver also offers help to the immigrants by allowing access to social services through help-lines and websites in 5 different languages of Asian region.
