VETASSESS Evaluation Procedure for General/Managerial Professions

The object of the VETASSESS Evaluation Procedure for General/Managerial Professions is an improved matching of skills/qualifications, and job readiness of the candidates for their designated vocations. The aim is to makes certain that the candidates–who fulfill the occupational criteria for immigration–stand a better chance of doing jobs in their chosen vocation, post moving to Down Under. The evaluation covers taking a note of the post-secondary qualification/s of the candidates’ and also their history of service against the criteria of their chosen vocation.

VETASSESS Skills Recognition-General Occupations requires the candidates to possess these: 1. A qualification which is duly assessed at the required level of education, in a very appropriate domain of study against the chosen occupation, and 2. Not less than 1 year of service duly completed at an appropriate level over the past 5 years in a very suitable domain against the chosen vocation.

For certain vocations, extra qualifications could make up for the non arability of an appropriate major, or extra years of service could be sought in case the qualification is not in a very applicable domain, or in case the service is pre-qualification.

The candidates, for a 485 visa nominating a VETASSESS occupation, just require having their educational skills duly evaluated.

All VETASSESS vocations have been categorized as A, B, C, D and E. The various groups reveal the differences in employment & educational criteria for the various vocations.

As the vocations covered on the DIAC and the ANZSCO websites are also employed for the objects other than immigration, and certain information, including registration and licensing, are not applicable to a VETASSESS Skills Evaluation.

The candidates for the GSM permits may also duly apply to VETASSESS to get an Advisory Letter to hand it over to the DIAC, for Points Test purposes, even as the same is an extra and non-compulsory evaluation.
