Video Conferencing for Visa Immigration!

Reports are saying that U.S. may come out with arrangements for video conferencing of visa interviews in India to make the application process easier for the applicants intending to travel to the country.

The talks are in its initial phase as it has been speculated that provisions would soon come out in action, which would allow people living in distant places to answer questions through video conferencing rather than traveling all the way to Mumbai for their visa interviews! If finalized, the step would come out as a huge relief for all those planning to apply for their visas.

Caroline Beteta, a spokesperson from the US Travel Association confirmed that decreasing the waiting period for visas is a critical facet which needs utter focus. She affirmed that talks are going on with officials regarding the implementation of video conferencing.

Statistics say that visa offices in India are not able to cope with the massive tourist visa applications. Hence, the waiting period tends to grow long with the passage of every moment. U.S. has seen an enhancement of 122% in tourist arrivals from India in the year 2008.

Beteta, is at present, in India, promoting California as a prospective tourist destination. The target audience belongs to the middle-class society, who are in majority and have eagerness to travel, she confirmed.

It has been speculated that the promotion would reflect a huge impact on the number of tourists visiting the US in the upcoming years.
