UK: According to the High Fliers’ graduate jobs survey, having decked with some work experience always adds a feather in the cap job-hunting graduates in order to boost their chances of getting employment in the UK.
The survey further elaborated that an optimistic job market is on the cards, with an increase of nine percent job opportunities as compared to the last year. But one aspect says that a highly competitive time is in store for the graduate job market as it is still coming out of its recession-effects.
The Graduate Market in 2011, the survey points out its finger that the employment market is showing signs of expansion, but it is yet to return back to its levels which was witnessed in the pre-recession era.
With a competitive job market, increase in the quantity of graduates and other aspects, employers in the UK are looking for additional facets more than the academic qualifications.
Latest trend is to have work experience while enrolling in your studies to get a well-paid high job with a good employer as compared to other students sans work experience. Additionally, an added work experience is seen as a mode of enhancing the quantity and quality of the job chances coming in to students. Otherwise, graduates minus work experience are usually seen landing up in less paid jobs and a struggling career ahead.
