Australian visa applications are increased by 17 percent and well shared by visa applications from India as much as 50 percent till mid of this year. The official figures revealed that the visitor visa application are up by 17 percent and out of that more than 50 percent of visa applicants belong as family members or relatives of Indian permanent residents or Indian origin Australian citizens.
The 17 percent surge in visitor visa application is a direct result of the speedy growing linkages between India and Australia in business and tourism according to an official statement released on Friday. Also, there has been an increase of 15 percent more applications for business short-stay programs. There may be further increase in the short-stay business visa program as due to the developing and strengthening India and Australia financial and trade relations.
The High Commissioner of Australia Peter Varghese stated that this positive immigration news of increased visa applications particularly from India is a positive signs of the budding partnership and cooperation between both nations and people. He further added that India and Australia are becoming imperative to each other on the international front.
The bilateral commerce activities involving India and Australia have been mounting at the rate of more than 20 percent yearly for the past five consecutive years. More than 22 million Australian dollars of trade activities taken place between both nations in 2010. Australian government is taking measures to ease and encourage immigration from India as India is considered as the biggest labor market for skilled workers internationally.
