UK Student Visa Process will Become Simpler!

On last Tuesday, the British Trade & Cultural Officer has announced that the application process of student visa in U.K will be made simpler than before for Taiwanese students.

On July 4th in a press release from the British Trade & Cultural Office, it is mentioned that while applying for a student immigration visa, the passport holders of Taiwan will not have to provide any documentation as an evidence of their financial independency and certificates of their educational degrees.

In an interview over telephone, a communication official of BTCO has said that every year about 4000 locals will get benefited from this changed policy. The modification on the Student Visa Policy made by the Immigration Department of U.K is basically for reviewing and strengthening its existing policy of student immigration.

The main purpose behind this revision is to properly handle the immigration issues and thus, to improve the process of student immigration. This opportunity is provided to 14 countries and Taiwan is one of them.

According to the Director of UKBA Asia-Pacific, the changes in the policy don’t mean “softening of entry requirements.”

He further added, they are settling in the process in low migration risk recognition posed by the Taiwan nationals and they retain the authority to inquire for additional evidence if is felt necessary by UKBA officer.

An official from the British Trade & Cultural Department said that the Taiwan students who are opting for short duration courses on language will not get affected due to the availability of six-month-visa-free program, established in the year of 2009.

In Taipei, the Director of the British Council is hoping that this new policy will be able to attract more students from Taiwan for further study.
