Even though, there are differences in opinion among people regarding the moratorium put by the Canadian government on new immigration applications to sponsor parents and grandparents to the country, but, only few would have the actual understanding or knowledge about the new super visa program. This particular multiple entry visa with validity up to 10 years, allow family members to stay in the country for the period up to 24 months at one time.
According to a recent report by CIC (Citizenship and Immigration Canada), this new Canadian visa programwill come into effect from December 1 and has to grant within the period of 8 weeks of the application approximately. Usually, it takes eight years time for processing of an application for permanent resident of parents and grandparents. But with the advent of super visa; it will take maximum 60 days.
At present, there are over 165,000 parents and grandparents applying for Canada permanent residency and waiting for it to happen. Every year, among 38,000 applicants, a large number of parents and grand-parents submit their applications for Canada PR, as for them, it is only option they have to be with their children in that country.
However, many applicants were denied for visitor’s visa due to the reason that their attachment with their children may prevent them from coming back to their native land. As a result of that, reportedly, many of them have applied for permanent residency in the country.
This visa may add a monetary burden on the family who is doing the sponsorship. However, as parents and grandparents, who are applying for super visa have to obtain first a private health insurance for their Canada stay.
