Migrant Language Skills Essential: Canadian Minister

In a significant development, the Immigration Minister of Canada has urged for minimum language skill standards, which may help cut-down on the cases involving fake immigration practices, tumbling-out primarily from the eastern provinces of the nation.

While talking about the latest development, on the much-talked about Provincial Nominee Program — presently the second biggest economic program of immigration, following the Federal Skilled Worker Program — the minister was quoted as saying that some people, who do not have much expertise in language, have entered via these investor plans that the government had to close, the reason being they were found to be rather corrupt.

The minster advised Ottawa that it work more closely with provinces to boost efforts related to the prevention of fraud cases and shut down the shops of dishonest immigration agency consultancies — several of whom employ false documents and produce non-existent jobs to make the most of the system of immigration.

He added that — courtesy establishing standards related to language skills — the chosen nominees stand a better chance to serve themselves, in an improved manner, to do well in their employment, and, in the process, economically prove beneficial to the nation’s territories and provinces.

Jason Kenney, the minister, also talked about the mega successes of the involved immigration program, which empowers the Canadian provinces to nominate individuals who cater to particular requirements involving regional labor market, for the prized Permanent Residency (PR) of the country.

It needs to be mentioned that the said program has developed by as much as 600% since 2004, even as it is presently accountable for over 36,000 new permanent residents annually across the country.
