US Offers Syrian Nationals Protected Immigration Status

In what appears to be a clear indication that the United States is pretty and thoroughly convinced that the security situation in Syria is not something to go to town with, Washington DC has given temporary immigration status to those nationals of Syria who could be in the US. And, this has saved such people the trouble and the trauma of returning back to their conflict-ridden and war-torn nation.

Thanks to this step, the Syrians present on the American soils would be entitled for temporary protected status, which, on earlier occasions, has been offered to the citizens of certain other nations, who has failed to return, in view of the bloody conflicts or natural calamities back home.

Meanwhile, a concerned person, from the US administration, was quoted as saying that such Syrian nationals would face grave threats to their overall well-being, in case pressure was put on them, and they were forced to return back to their nation.

A conservative estimate suggests that between 2,500 and 3,000 Syrian nationals in the US would be entitled for the said status. Most such people are in the US in an unauthorized manner. In the background of the history of the citizens from other nations — who were found suitable for temporary protection — and after the said status was offered to them, the concerned officers are usually hesitant to terminate it.

Syria is one of the nations from the Middle Eastern region of Asia — whose citizens are subjected to increased inspection — when they make a visit to the US. Usually, the temporary status continues for one-and-a-half year before it is subjected to renewal.
