Given the present state of the Indian rupee–which has allegedly made students from the country think twice about their out-of-the-country campus plans–universities in certain nations have reportedly begun to start fresh scholarships & flexible academic alternatives so that the overseas movement of the students from this part of the world continues unabated.
From this year onwards, several educational establishments in New Zealand will enable students to choose what are called ‘condensed’ master’s programmes. They will reportedly have to cover the same content in a shorter time. Students registering for a two-year masters course could be given the permission to duly complete the same between 12 and 18 months.
Several educational establishments of Australia also proffer this alternative even as students could be given the permission to file a petition for credit subject immunity on the basis of recognition of prior learning in case they have studied the same or comparable courses before at a suitable stage. Others could be permitted to put in longer work days to conclude the credits needed. In Down Under, students have the right to give-up their holidays, so that they may conclude the course at one go.
According to a concerned person, the advantage lies in the drop of subjects of study, charges & time needed to suitably conclude the course. In certain cases, the student will not have to cough-up for the courses exempted, even as a condensed course denotes a shorter stay abroad leading to lesser costs. The general understanding is that those who conclude their courses in advance may begin to settle their debts before.
