Skills Australia identifies this trend and has therefore outlined the occupation of Real Estate Agent on CSOL ‘Consolidated Skilled Occupation List’. The opportunity exists for all those who have a rich and relevant experience in buying and selling immovable properties. The applications are invited under the Skilled Immigration programme.

One needs to understand the critical aspects of the skilled immigration prior to making an application.

Eligibility-

Applicants who have a AQF Associate Degree / Advanced Diploma in the relevant field 3 years of relevant exposure in order to substitute the formal education

The eligibility criterion is clearly inclined towards the experience aspect. Unlike the other countries, Skills Australia has paid emphasis on the exposure part as the formal education can be substituted with the same.

Education-

A formal education is very necessary for this occupation. Especially, Skillselect finds the education a scoring point. One can gain 20 to 25 points if one has a Masters or Doctorate on the resume.

Work Experience-

ASRI pays a huge emphasis on the number or years on work experience. If the application is placed under skilled independent visa, the work experience can be mentioned to see an addition of 20 points on Skillselect. In the real estate industry the experience plays a pivotal role as one needs to be thorough with tenancy laws, residential laws and information check.

License / Registration-

The skilled immigrants must have a valid license or registration to his or her credit prior to placing the Expression of Interest. The license can be applied at Business Licensing Authority, Office of Business or Consumer Affairs and The Real Estate and Business Agents Supervisory Board.

Work Visa-

The work visa for the aforesaid occupation is classified under Employer Nomination Scheme, Long term Business Sponsorship and Provincial Nomination Migration Scheme. The applicants can be benefitted by ‘not’ facing the tough competition on Skillselect and make an easy entry through a valid sponsorship. Notably, the provincial nomination would require you to work for at least 2 years at a designated region. Once over, the work visa can be extended to PR visa or Citizenship

Documentation-

The application stands rejected as soon as it is found deficient. It must be supplemented with papers on nationality, education, work experience, residence, travel, skills and health. Even the size of your photograph can be a reason on rejection. One must therefore take a good care of each and every paper on immigration and provide the same without fail.
