Quebec is located in east central Canada and has a pre-dominated French speaking population, hence it is regarded as a French state. Approximately, 85% of its total population speaks French. Thus, the Quebec government has officially declared French as its official language.
The province has many attractive features, such as in terms of land, it is the largest Canadian province, and when it comes to the administrative division, it holds the second position. Not just that, it is the second most populated province in the Maple Leaf Country. Significantly, majority of its inhabitants are settled around and adjoining areas of Saint Lawrence River, between the Quebec city–the capital city of Quebec and Montreal.
Quebec City is the most popular city in North America. Many people visit the city to experience old European charm and enjoy exquisite cuisine. Throughout the year on going attractive events and festival is another major source of attraction.
The province is completely independent, and neither Canadian government nor Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC), earlier known as Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC), has a major interference.
And, when it comes to Quebec immigration programmes, the Quebec government, along with the federal government, takes a collective decision but first approval has to be given by the Quebec government.
The province’s administration has set its specific immigration programmes as per the province’s financial and professional needs also considering the growing demand of the local market. Each particular programme is designed to cater to the growing demand of the province. Furthermore, Quebec immigration programmes are not identical to the rest of the country’s immigration programme.
Each immigration programme is based on a set of eligibility criteria, and other basic requirements that the prospective immigrants have to fulfill before they approach the Quebec government to initiate their application.
The decision on some of its programmes lies with province’s government alone. The province’s business immigration programme is a perfect example. Only after the applicant fully satisfies the concerned government, the applicant gets an opportunity to become a permanent resident of the province.
The programme is further subdivided into three broad sub categories–Investor programme, Entrepreneur Programme, and Self Employed Person Programme. Each applicant, on the basis of their needs, select a programme and then initiate their application.
The priority of the aspirant is to secure Certificat de sélection du Québec, i.e, the official selection certificate. The certificate will make the selection process smoother; it is a legal proof that you are eligible to enter the province.
Once you have successfully acquired the Certificat de sélection du Québec, you just have to meet the basic requirements, and once Quebec government gives you a yes, you may apply for a last approval from the Federal Government.
The complete process may be time consuming but once you have gone through the above phases, you may easily become the permanent resident of the country, and once you have lived and worked in the province for at least three years, you become eligible to apply for Canadian passport and citizenship.
Note:- Applicants with a criminal background or serious health issues are prohibited from entering the country.
