Recently Sydney witnessed three Chinese detainees fleeing away from the Sydney’s Villawood Immigration Detention Centre, following which a nationwide search has been commenced in the same direction. The incident has come as a huge harassment for the Immigration officials who are involved in transferring the detainees to the mainland.
The news came just after four other detainees managed to escape the premises while in the same process of transferring the detainees, in an attempt to clear the Christmas Land.
More than thirty detainees have landed to the mainland this year. But this whole hustle-bustle of shifting the applicants from one place to another had lead to the fleeing of the detainees, leading the Immigration authorities under loads of pressure. The concerned people (who are failed asylum seekers) are in the process of being shifted to the mainland.
The police officials believe that the concerned people climbed the fence and ran away, escaping the high security management from the Immigration authority.
Australian politician Julia Gillard is asking for high security measures from the Immigration point of view. She said that that the concern lies with the management of detention center in Sydney! Hence, one is not expecting to repeat these kinds of incidents again.
Incidents of these kinds have surely created headaches, not only for the Aussie government but for Immigration authorities in a major way. Some serious attempts need to be implemented in the same direction as soon as possible.
