Federal Minster Eager to Make Amendments in Immigration System

Immigration Minister Jason Kenney intends to differentiate authentic and genuine refugees from false immigrants and in attempt to do so; he is planning to change the Immigration system.

He said that last year the country received 38,000 applications from asylum seekers. On the contrary, the country is already attired with a backlog of 60,000 people waiting to get Canadian protection under the “refugee” tag. It’s been more than a year since they have been waiting for get the hearing. According to him, the problem lies in the fact that more than half of the quantity turn out to be fake refugees.

He went on to say that a majority of them cross the Immigration system, board a plane to the country by stating wrong stories in their favor. Once they happen to get entry, many of them go undetected and enjoy the benedictions of Canada.

According to Kenney, the current system is also not doing any good to those refuges who come to the country in a legal manner.

Therefore, the cost incurred on the fake applicants comes out to be really huge. However, the proposed amendments would cut down the cost by a huge margin, saving Canada $1.8 billion in the upcoming five years.

In straight words, Kenney said that whomsoever enters our airports, make false stories and enter in a fraudulent manner, we are going to wed you out of the premises as soon as possible!
