Immigrating to Australia Getting Tougher

With the rules of immigration being amended for Australia, it sure is getting harder to get a permit to immigrate to Australia. This can be considered as being in opposition to the Prime Minister of Australia, Kevin Rudd’s plan for Australia. Rudd plans for more immigrants to come and work in Australia which has not been taken very nicely by the local citizens. The main question to be asked is whether the new set of rules would put the Skilled Migrants’ Visa at the back?

There has been constant negative feedback towards the Australian Department of Immigration and Citizenship (DIAC) regarding the migration boards. Complaints have been that there has been a lack of clear and precise information being provided by these migration boards to the applicants applying for the visa. This has been specifically true for the rules pertaining to language requirements.

Adding to this, recently it has been announced that the rules for the above are to get stricter than they already are in the near future. The applicants would have to submit additional proof demonstrating their ability in the language.

The DIAC has announced that these proofs should be submitted as soon as possible since no application would be delayed waiting for the same. So, now the applicants have twenty eight days starting from their visa application date. The applications would be rejected if they fail to submit the relevant information.

However, applications submitted under the subclasses of 885, 886, 175, 176, 475, 476 and 485 have time till a decision has been made. With this, doubts have been raised pertaining to restricting and terminating programs which has led to a lot of controversy. It has been confirmed by a few members from the Embrace Community that there are applicants who have received a communication saying that their application has been capped and ceased. However, the same has been denied in the official statement by DIAC.

Thus, as of now applicants are not sure if their applications would be accepted. Most of these applicants are highly skilled professionals in occupations that are listed in the CSL.
