It is called a “Green Card” but for many years the color somehow was not matching the name which goes with it. We are talking about the Green Card which is issued to the legal Permanent Residents of the US.

Recently United States Citizenship and Immigration Services confirmed to come out with a high-tech redesigned Green Card with actual color green on it! according to an officer from the Immigration department, the new card would be decked with laser engraved finger prints, along with other advanced features like radio frequency chips to maintain the identity of the user and holographic images, to name a few. The amendment would make the jobs of Immigration officials at the port easier!

The officer confirmed that the amendments done in the card would ensure a hassle free identification procedure along with confirming that legal immigrants are entering the premises on authentic documents. Additionally, the technology would enhance the integrity of the US Immigration department further.

In one of the agency’s statement, it states that the design would be accompanied with plenty of benefits, including the fact that it will store the biometrics of the card holder ensuring that his authentication is performed in a dependable manner.

With the increase in illegal immigration and undocumented applicants crossing the border on a regular basis, an amendment of this kind was on the cards. For further details, stay tuned!
