Technology Entrepreneurs May Be Offered EB-6 “Start-Up Visa” for US

Senator John Kerry along with Republican Senator Richard Lugar came up with Start-Up Visa Act somewhere in month of February. Reports say that this bill is to woo Technology Entrepreneurs to come and work in the U.S., hence playing a critical role in enhancing the economy of the country in a major way.

The entrepreneur would go on to become a permanent resident provided his business gives birth to five additional jobs or goes on to get revenue of US$1m.

As far as the current EB-5 visa is concerned, it allows the business people who are intending to put $1m and give rise to 10 jobs but the visa is barely opted by the business personalities.

It has been positively speculated that if passed, the bill create plenty of job opportunities in the United States, along with boosting the capital too. Start-Up-Visa would allow an overseas businessman to enter the United States if they manage to raise $250,000 from venture capitalists in the span of upcoming 2 years. After that the business man has to create five jobs along with enhancing the capital to $1 million on his way to get a Permanent Residence status in the country. EB-6 visa would be the name given to the Start-Up-Visa.

The White House has now plenty of issues to look forward to. There is Immigration Reform, Climate Bill, and now this EB-6 Visa! One has to wait and watch as to what happens next.
