It is no new thing to people that in Australia human smuggling is often resembled with prostitution or the sex industry. It is found that people all over the world being lured to come to the nation in the name of marriage, but once they are arrived, these innocent people are being forced to engage in altogether different work, especially in the sex industry and other awful work conditions.
Human trafficking is a serious issue in Australia and this has led the nation to launch a new anti-slavery campaign, which aims at raising awareness about smuggling people for making them engaged in prostitution. According to the campaign’s director, Jennifer Burn, Australian community is not aware of things which are going on in their nation. She believes, with the launch of the new campaign, the nation’s population would develop awareness. The campaign is likely to make aware those people who have chances to be in contact with the people who are already involved in such activities. The campaign has been funded by the Federal Government Attorney General’s department.
The director also pointed the symptoms which would likely to indicate such conditions. They include when individuals do not possess identity credentials, including passport; when they enter the country to get engaged in doing some particular things, but ended up doing something completely different; as well as when people were being misled about the work conditions in Australia.
There have been many instances when it was found that most people were being lured and made to enter into Australia through a common way. Most people use partner visa for the purpose. Once people are in the nation, they are forced to work in improper conditions.
