The Australian and New Zealand Standard Classification of Occupations list which has recently replaced the ASCO (Australian Standard Classification of Occupations) includes the occupations for which the nation requires skills that it lacks in inbound workers. The ANZSCO list has two sub categories, viz. Schedule 3 and Schedule 4.
The difference between Schedule 3 and Schedule 4 is that foreign workers can apply for the occupations comprises by the former through the General Skilled Migration Program, while for the occupations included in the latter overseas skilled workers can apply via Sponsored/Regional Programs. Good thing is that Civil Engineer occupation is included in both the categories, which means interested foreign workers are free to apply for the job position under any of the schedules. Have a look at some of the job responsibilities attached to this occupation:

- Monitoring the functions at the construction site. He is responsible for proper functioning of the construction process.
