Tale of a Deported Aussie!

A man from Australia who was taken into custody during a protest held in Bangkok, and was held in the Thai custody because he was unable to pay for his deportation, has finally headed towards his home country. The man in concern, Conor David Purcell, aged 30, left Bangkok and is expected to land Sydney in his home country the next day.

A surgeon from Thailand stimulated him to take part in the protest, the incident which lead to his arrest earlier in this year, stumped up for his air fare. Conor David had to be in the custody of Thai immigration detention centre for a span of almost 12 days after spending one and a half month in jail.

He was announced deportation after his jail sentence, but circumstances were made in such a way that he couldn’t meet his kin as they couldn’t afford the air ticket to the land of Kangaroos, the same has been confirmed by his well-wisher Dr Pongsak Phusitsakul. The latter met Conor when the man in concern was targeted by a rubber bullet by Thai troops in their action towards nullifying the protests done by these people.

Dr Pongsak Phusitsakul went on to say that he met the guy in a medical institution on April 10. At that time, he was suffering from injuries. It was him who motivated Conor to go on stage, which became one of the main reasons of his arrest.

Reports have confirmed that Conor David has given speeches to the anti-government protests earlier also. This is not the first time he has done it. In addition, Conor David is also a former member of the Australian Army reserves.

Dr. Pongsak has confirmed that he is himself feeling the onus of the arrest of Conor David. The latter faced certain beatings during his detention and was refused bail on constant occasions.
