British MP Accuses Government for not Controlling Immigration!

The British government has been accused by MP Keith Vaz for failing to control the immigration system in the nation. The comments came about after Theresa May, the British Home Secretary came out with an announcement regarding immigration in the House of Commons.

The announcement made by the Home Secretary catered to granting an exemption for the elite scientists and other similar people regarding the cap which is being imposed on immigration. The cap caters to limiting the number of migrants coming to UK annually, especially those from the non European Union nations.

Vaz is the MP for Leicester East and is also the chairman for the House of Commons Home Affairs Select Committee. As per him, he is very concerned about the fact that the government has still not been able to bring the immigration system under control. This clearly depicts that illegal migration is out of bounds from being handled. At the same time, companies are also not paying fines and are breaking laws pertaining to immigration.

He also said that the Home Affairs committee would soon be catering to an investigation and an inquiry regarding the student visas. At this juncture, it is important for the government to be caution especially when it comes to restrictions pertaining to the language schools. This is because these are the institutions which act as feeder schools for all the major universities.

On the other hand, according to May, the total number of professionals coming on skilled migrant visas from the non-EU nations would be reduced by one-fifth of the original. The number would be set at 21,700 for 2011.
