Gov. David A. Paterson Pardons People Facing Deportation!

New York: Gov. David A. Paterson recently declared pardons for six immigrants facing deportation for the reason of previous criminal convictions, counting a financial administrator at the New York City University. It has been confirmed by the Governor that the pardons addressed “deficiency which exists in their immigration related laws linked with the facet of deportation.”

He instigated a unique clemency procedure in the spring with the motto of assisting permanent legal residents — green card holders — who are facing the possibility of deportation, courtesy some old crimes, or small convictions.

He went on to say that the Federal immigration laws are a majority of times inflexible, rigid and randomly applied, hence leading to the deportation of those people who have already suffered the consequences of their crimes and are currently doing good in the benefit of the society. The motto of these pardons is to distribute a fair justice to the entire society.

The Governor assembled a “pardon panel” last May. It has been confirmed by certain officials that he might come out with another batch of pardons before the ending of his term this month.

Amongst the people who were pardoned, there are people who have already suffered the punishment for their crimes and are now into the path of improving themselves and doing big for themselves as well as the society.

Experts believe that it is a great step towards doing benefiting people who are facing the threat of deportation but are involved in good deeds in favor of their country.
